Numerous leisure activities await you during your stay in Hitzacker (Elbe).

On the city island, we recommend a tour of the historic town with its beautiful half-timbered buildings. With the museum "Das Alte Zollhaus", the sports boat harbour, various Elbe cruises and the "Archaeological Centre", the state-approved climatic health resort of Hitzacker (Elbe), with more than 1700 hours of sunshine a year, awaits you with further interesting excursion possibilities.

A walk up the vineyard is also highly recommended. You will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the historic city island and Germany's second longest river – the Elbe.
For cyclists and hikers, the ferry "Elbe" offers a nice start for varied tours from April 1st to October 15th (depending on the water level). Cyclists can look forward to the Elbe Cycle Path (860km), which runs through seven federal states and is the most popular long-distance cycle path in Germany. You can hire bikes on site at the hotel or store your own bikes safely with us.

The small Jeetzel river in the unspoiled nature of the Elbe floodplain is ideal for canoeing and paddling tours. Fishing is possible in the Elbe and Jeetzel rivers. Or you can board one of the excursion boats and take a trip on the Elbe.
The newly built Hitzacker (Elbe) marina and swing bridge are just a few minutes' walk away. The marina is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly on the Elbe.

A cultural highlight every year is the Hitzacker Summer Music Days, which take place at the end of July/beginning of August. Germany's oldest chamber music festival enjoys a great reputation among music lovers at home and abroad. Founded in 1987, the Hitzacker Music Week is a ten-day festival of classical music that takes place annually in February/March with daily programs and a total of up to 20 events as the late-winter sister of the Summer Music Days.

On the old salt road in the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg, about 45 minutes away, medieval times and bricks await those interested in culture. Whoever has seen the Hotel Hafen Hitzacker (Elbe) in person has been our guest a short time later. When are you coming?

The hotel has very large comfortable rooms. The bathrooms are huge. Each room has a beautiful large balcony. We arrived with our racing bikes. The hotel has a lockable bicycle room. Breakfast was taken in the house across the street. Very tasty and rich.

Very nice, spacious and sparkling-clean hotel, where you can breathe and do not live in confined spaces. It lies on the small river Jeetzel and not far from the Elbe. It is suitable for relaxation due to its tranquillity. As a starting point for cycling the location is very good and the small "island - town" Hitzacker is very idyllic

We can recommend the hotel without restriction. The deluxe rooms are wonderfully large, as are the bathrooms. We've never had hotel rooms so spacious. The surroundings are quiet, the staff very friendly and the breakfast buffet rich. Parking spaces directly in front of the house were always available. The location is ideal for a short holiday where you want to reach as many destinations as possible in a short time
